Gerry Dendrinos

Gerry is a Classical Homeopath and Western Herbalist. He has been in continual practice for over fifteen years including having taught Homeopathy and Herbal Medicine at a tertiary level. He is a member of the Australian Register of Homeopaths (ARoH), Australian Homeopathic Association (AHA) and the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS).

Areas of interest:

Using a collaborative approach, Gerry helps clients deal with a wide variety of health problems from acute illness to chronic diseases.  Gerry also has a particular interest in working with challenging chronic health problems that fall outside orthodox medicine’s ability to help.

As a parent with three young children he has a strong interest in children’s health, particularly in the areas of behavioural difficulties, ear/ nose/ throat/ respiratory complaints, allergies, eczema, bed-wetting, ADD/ ADHD, autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and other behavioural and developmental challenges.

Gerry’s approach is equally applicable to general physical ailments, as well as mental/ emotional issues resulting from past or current traumatic events, including anxiety, depression, insomnia, post traumatic syndrome, addiction and mood disorders.

Other areas of interest include seasonal disorders such as hay fever, colds and flus, for which simple and effective treatments are available.

  • Homeopathy: Gerry practices as a Classical Homeopath.
  • Herbal Medicine: Gerry utilises both traditional Herbal medicine and more recent developments in evidence-based Phytotherapy.
  • Tissue Salts: Schuessler’s mineral salts are often used to support the body’s healing and to facilitate optimal absorption of nutrients.
  • Bach Flowers: supporting mental/ emotional healing.
  • Reiki: Reiki treatments are offered upon request. Gerry also offers training in Reiki levels 1 and 2. Learning Reiki is a simple and effective way of maintaining one’s own health, and it can also be with others.

Training & experience:

Gerry began his studies in natural medicine in 1995 obtaining a Diploma in Natural Medicines through the Kim Dudley Naturopathic College, in Homeopathy and Herbal Medicine. He complemented his formal studies by working in The Hierophant to complete what amounted to apprenticeship-style training.  He later completed an Advanced Diploma of Classical Herbal Medicine through the Dorothy Hall College of Herbal Medicine, where he finished as dux. He has since continued his herbal and homeopathic studies under the American Herbalist/ Homeopath Matthew Wood, and the internationally renowned Bombay School of Homeopathy.

He taught homeopathy and herbal medicine as part of CIT’s naturopathy program between 2005 and 2011.

Gerry regularly attends seminars, both in Australia and overseas, to further develop his skills in natural medicine.
