Motherwort is an anti-depressant, antispasmodic and nervine and was used by the Ancient Greeks to soothe anxiety in pregnant women and for what we now know as post-natal depression. It can also be used as a cardiovascular tonic, to regulate menstruation, soothe menstrual cramps, relieve premenstrual tension and discomfort. It is an anti-depressant, antispasmodic and nervine.
