Eucalyptus is antiseptic, ant-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-microbial in action and can be used as an inhalement to ease coughs, colds, sore throats, asthma and  respiratory congestion.  The decoction is also an excellent mouth wash and when applied topically helpsto treat burns, cuts and insect bites, as well as muscle and joint pain.
